Speaking & Presentations

"I have twice heard Dr. Pauline Dillard speak at the Christian Counselors Fellowship breakfasts in Colorado Springs. In both of these presentations Dr. Pauline has demonstrated extensive knowledge of her subject and the rare gift of defining the essence of the process so the listener can take it in and utilize the material with understanding. Her faith is both context and support for her teaching."

  • Life is Trauma: A Body, Mind, Spirit Approach to Healing

In this 6 hour learning opportunity Dr. Pauline Dillard will help counselors, pastors, and support people understand how trauma affects the entire person. Dr. Pauline will show you how the mind/emotions are impacted, how the spirit is affected, and how the biochemistry of the body is changed by trauma. When the biochemistry of a person is changed by trauma, this will have an impact on their emotional and spiritual understanding and responses. There is a saying that the church is the only army that shoots its wounded. Please don’t shoot the wounded. In this timely and well rounded teaching you will learn how not to shoot the wounded by:

    • Knowing which to focus on first: body, mind, or spirit.
    • When is the right time to introduce inner healing prayer
    • How does deliverance fit in
    • What are the biochemical impacts and how does nutrition fit in
    • How to quickly understand a person at a deep emotional level

  • Please Don’t Shoot the Wounded (90 minutes)

Dr. Pauline talks about how the trauma of many modern birth practices don’t fit the model of normal or necessary trauma of birth. Since the greatest amount of growth for the baby’s brain occurs in the last trimester through about age 2 the negative impact of this unnecessary trauma on the neural pathways can have serious impact on the gene expression of your baby’s brain, leading to many of the social/relationship problems we are seeing in many children today. Dr. Pauline will talk about how to prevent the unnecessary trauma, and how attachment parenting can help with the healing of a baby’s brain after it has been traumatized.
  • Birth Trauma, The Baby’s Brain, and the Role of the Birth Professional (1 hour)
